Hello medical provider! You invested and sacrificed a tremendous amount, both time and money, to learn your craft, hone your skills, and ultimately to spend your career helping others and saving lives. In most cases, you probably haven’t spent much time studying the finer points of law, contracts, and negotiation. You deserve to be well-compensated for your work but how do you know the offer extended is fair in all of its terms? How do you negotiate a signing bonus, moving expenses, time off, and partnership? And what the heck is a RVU??
MedContract Pro was formed to answers those questions and help you effectively and efficiently evaluate your employment agreement. Through our in-person seminars, webinars, and one-on-one sessions, we can help you maximize your income and benefits before ultimately accepting your best offer and continuing your medical service journey.
Let us help take the stress out of negotiating your contract through our engaging, informative sessions.
Our years spent drafting and editing medical employment agreements means we can share best and worst practices from real contracts gathered from practices and health systems all over the country. Plus, presenting to larger groups means we can offer value-based pricing, saving you money.
At the end of the day, you’ll walk away with a broad knowledge of medical employment agreements, you’ll know the key terms that should be in your contract (and those that shouldn’t), you’ll understand the compensation and benefit structures, and you’ll have more confidence to negotiate what you want.
About Jesse Overbay, J.D.
Jesse is a healthcare attorney and consultant with DoctorsManagement (link) who helps medical groups of every specialty and size. He’s a frequent speaker at national academy meetings, conventions, and seminars and primarily teaches about healthcare contracts and compliance.
MedContract Pro was started as a way to pass along some of his experience in writing, editing, and negotiating contracts to medical professionals. "Every practitioner, whether finishing residency and getting a first job or buying into a practice after years of hard work, should be knowledgeable about his or her legal documents and be confident it’s the best deal he or she could possibly achieve," Jesse says. He’s passionate about teaching the ins-and-outs of medical employment agreements and travels the country teaching in-depth seminars and sharing real-world examples of contracts he’s reviewed.
Jesse grew up near the beautiful Smoky Mountains of East Tennessee and attended the University of Tennessee, Knoxville for both undergrad and law school. He practiced general litigation and bankruptcy law with a well-regarded regional firm for five years before entering the world of healthcare. He still lives in Knoxville and always looks forward to come home to his wife, Kristen, and their two children. When he’s not consulting or teaching, you can find him enjoying the outdoors and spending as much quality time as possible with his family.
